What Extolly does not do yet
An honest list of limits, so you know before you rely on something: what cannot be made here, how some figures are worked out, and what is still to come.

Why this page exists
You are trusting Extolly with your books. You should know where its edges are before you find them yourself.
Where it runs
- Windows only, on the computer that runs Tally.
- Not on a phone or from another place yet. That arrives with Extolly cloud. See Extolly on your phone.
- No separate users or roles. Whoever can open the dashboard can do everything in it.
- Tested on TallyPrime 7.1. Earlier releases of TallyPrime and Tally.ERP 9 have not been tested yet.
What cannot be made in Extolly
- Sales and purchase orders, delivery notes and receipt notes.
- Stock journals, manufacturing entries and payroll.
- An accounting entry with more than one debit and one credit, other than a bill.
- E-invoices and e-way bills.
- New stock groups, units, godowns, and ledgers other than customers, suppliers and an IGST ledger.
All of these are read from Tally and shown. They are made in Tally.
What cannot be changed in Extolly
- Receipts, payments and journals in Tally cannot be edited here. Cancel or delete, and enter again.
- Some bills cannot be edited, when Extolly cannot rebuild them exactly. The entry says why.
- Stock items cannot be edited or deleted.
- Customers and suppliers can be added and edited, but not deleted.
- An invoice with an e-invoice number cannot be cancelled or deleted.
See Change, cancel or delete an entry.
Bills and payments
- A payment settles the oldest unpaid bills first. You cannot pick the bill.
- One print layout for bills, with no logo, bank details or terms.
- Only sales bills and credit notes print.
- The godown on a bill line is chosen by Extolly.
- A cash sale is always treated as a sale within your own state.
Figures
- Stock value and margins use average cost, whatever method your company uses in Tally.
- Receipt notes, rejections, material in and out, payroll and purchase orders have not yet been checked against a live Tally for their effect on stock value. Data health tells you if your books use them.
- Rupees only. Books kept in another currency are shown with the rupee sign.
- The thresholds are fixed: running low is under 15 days of stock, slow-moving is over 45 days, gone quiet is 45 days without an invoice.
- The map is of India only.
GST
- The GST screens are working papers, not a filed return.
- There is no GSTR-3B layout and no file for the GST portal.
- Purchases are not matched against what suppliers filed.
- Details filled in under Missing details stay in Extolly and are not written to Tally.
Reports
- Downloads are CSV spreadsheets. There is no Excel-format or PDF export of a report.
- Charts are column charts. The type cannot be changed.
- Deleting a report or a segment has no undo.
Large companies
Extolly has been run against large made-up companies, but the first read and the routine checks have not yet been timed on a very large real one. If your company has several lakh entries, the first read may take a while, and you may want Tally checked every 5 or 15 minutes rather than every minute.
Language
English only.
Still being built
- Extolly cloud: your books on your phone, signing in, team members.
- A signed installer, so Windows does not show its warning.
- Automatic updates switched on.
If one of these limits is stopping you from using Extolly, tell us. It decides what we build next.
